The Madonna / Britney Spears Kiss
It's pretty hot where I live.
"How hot is it?" I can hear you asking.
Well, it's so hot you can wash and dry your laundry at the same time.
Speaking of hot...
For some reason, on my X/Twitter account I occasionally get video clips of a scantily clad Britney Spears having seizures.
Or dancing.
I'm not sure which.
Which reminds me of a joke:
What do you call a dancing chicken?
Poultry in motion.
For the record, I'm not comparing Britney to a dancing chicken.
Anyway, while Britney Spears has never been my cup of tea, I can recognize the natural beauty she had in the 80s. In her prime, she even helped my son make that tricky leap from childhood into puberty.
In these clips, however, she's not sexy. Just sad. I don't want to get into the dirty laundry of her life, but I do wonder when it all started going downhill for her. I'm guessing it was when Madonna kissed her at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. I'm fortunate to be old enough to remember when the "M" in MTV stood for Music, not Manure.
Nature abhors a vacuum, so when Madonna kissed her--the lifeless, soulless harpy that she is--she sucked all the decency, innocence, and intelligence out of the young star like a psychic vampire. Whether it was a coincidence or not, Britney's life and career sure went downhill after that.
By the way, do you know what the difference is between a kiss from Madonna and a shark attack? You have a better chance surviving a shark attack.
Whatever bargain Madonna made with the devil at the crossroads those many years ago, it came with a price. When Madonna then kissed Christina Aguilera immediately afterward, it backfired and her face has slowly evolved into the lifeless death mask you see today.
Which begs the question, do you know what the difference is between Madonna and Frankenstein's creature? One's an inarticulate monster and the other is a fictional character.
I don't know what that says about Christina Aguilera, but the rumor is she's been hanging out at the crossroads again.
